These are fantastic. I have never heard a better sounding speaker in my life. You can hear these at Best Buy in their "top end" Magnolia section if you want to hear them before you buy them on Amamzon. The bass on these made it an obvious choice for me. I have an open room and didn't want wires all over for a surround setup but wanted bass so I went with these, a Denon receiver and a Definitive Tech center and wow it fills the room and is better than I ever expected. When these speakers arrived, I somehow felt disappointed. I knew the dimensions before I bought them, but it somehow didn't hit me until I actually saw them. I even double-checked the speaker label to make sure I didn't get the wrong speakers by mistakes. Well, after an hour or so to set them up, I was pleasantly surprised by how good they sound. I purchased these last week along with some other Definitive Technology products. I haven't tinkered with them too much, but the surround is so much more pronounced and prevalent. Band of Brothers, with the mortars and artillery crashing through the forest sounds just incredible. The two "speakers" on each unit make it feel like I'm right in the middle of the action.I've only tried them as rear surrounds. I bought them mainly for home theater, but i also listen to music, which sounds crystal clear. The midrange and tweeter do an incredible job at capturing detailed sounds in movies that I never heard on my previous system. I just recieved this subwoofer and hooked it up in 20 x 17 family room to give it a test run. When I saw the size of this thing I was a little worried. My last sub was a JBL 12 inch sub that finally gave out after 10 years. Once I picked up this sub you can feel the quality in the weight alone(heavy for its size).
